Hi guys, I'm suffering from anxiety and panic and have done for the past 20 years. Just before Xmas I was woken in the middle of the night with a really fast heart beat. At that time I was confused more than frightened until I realised it wasn't stopping. I then went into major panic mode until my husband calmed me down. This while event lasted 15/20 minutes and frightened the life out of me. I have had this happen a few times since and always when I'm sleeping. I'm now on beta blockers which have calmed me a lot and the attacks last around 5 minutes. My cardiologist says my heart is normal after ECG and the symptoms I told her. Has anyone else experienced this as I now have big trouble sleeping :(
