Me as well I'm constantly calling to make an appointment you would think they wouldn't judge as they are getting money every time you visit or have a test done.

Could you have possibly hurt your obliques, or rib area?. Those muscles can get pulled very easy, mixed with some bloating .

Blessed... I had a weird pain like this exactly a year ago on and off for like a month and I was pregnant and so I went to ER several times for it and was told my kidney was a bit enlarged and it could be kidney stones. This is not life threatening just painful. Get it checked out.

First do not poke it and touch it a lot or that area will get worse, I think your already worried so every little thing that is abnormal you are focusing on I do this all the time I don't think this is something to worry about I would wait a few days to see how it feels then( it's hard to do I know ) but to make you feel better you can always call your dr or er and discuss this to ease your mind hope u feel better

Blessed, I understand the fear you're having, why don't you go to the ER and get checked out to ease your pain and mind?

I would but our insurance system is so jacked up..... Now if we go to ER and its not life threatening then insurance will not pay a dime. So if my blood pressure gets jacked up again and I freak out and go to ER and they rule it anxiety (because of my 1st attack two years ago was ruled anxiety they have my history) then I'm stuck with entire bill. I'm appealing my April visit right now of 1250.00

Oh no! That sucks!! Insurance companies are a load of crap! You should be able to go to the ER no matter what... You pay the insurance!

I plan to see my doc Monday eve. I pray she understands and that all will be well. I'm sure she will want to run tests which will really overload my anxiety. So sick of this wicked cycle. Danged if you don't and danged if you do :-(

I wouldn't suggest an ER visit unless you absolutely have to. Talk about added stress! And they won't do a darned thing if it's anxiety related. An ER staff is trained to evaluate anything that's life-threatening or might require hospitalization. This doesn't sound life-threatening, as unpleasant as it may be. I'd recommend going to your regular doc and getting checked out. If he thinks it's anything that needs further testing, I'm sure he'll send you to a specialist. Otherwise, you'll just end up with more stress and a huge bill. Ask yourself, has anyone EVER went to the ER with anxiety and left feeling secure and better that they'd been sufficiently treated and that it was going to result in a cure? 10 out of 10 anxiety patients would say no. I have small lumps in places on my body as well. They are just small cysts, everyone has them, they are harmless. Of course, someone with anxiety immediately thinks "cancer! I'm gonna die in 10 minutes!" Especially if there's even a single anxiety symptom that your mind could link to a life-threatening condition. Hang in there, don't stress yourself out worrying about the worst. Let your doc check you to put your mind at ease. You will be just fine.

And what's even worse is once this subsides something new manifests itself and rears its ugly head to torment me with thoughts of uncontrollable illness

Also, you mentioned that your gall bladder had been removed. However, that doesn't necessarily cure all digestive symptoms like bloating, pain and discomfort. You have to remember that the gall bladder isn't just a totally useless organ. It does aid in digestion and its absence means you have to be mindful of your diet. Certain foods can trigger a lot of pain and discomfort...with or without your gall bladder. If you know what those trigger foods are, simply avoid them. Certainly anything with a high grease or fat content like fried foods. That's just what I've learned from friends who've had theirs removed.

That should tell you that more than likely, this is just anxiety. Most diseases don't skip from one random symptom to another. Don't sit and fret over what you're feeling. If possible, keep your body and mind as busy as possible.

Amen! I can attest to that! I'm facing a $1600 ER bill right now. Everybody who walks by your bed will send you a bill.

It's ok. Believe me if I thought they could tell me why this is doing this I would go, but I know what they will say ..... Anxiety, follow up with your doc so they can refer you. Everyone has to get a dollar from you :). I just appreciate everyone taking time out of their hectic day to make me feel better, I really do appreciate it!

True. I understand that. And I would never advise anyone to avoid the ER if they are experiencing extreme pain or trauma with no relief. It just sounded like obsessive worry and anxiety. Trust me, that would be an awfully expensive Xanax, especially if insurance won't cover it. Being head over heels in debt adds to anxiety like nobody's business. I'm stressed over paying off my ER bills.
