Hi there

I am on 20mg Flouxetine and 40g of Proponolol - I have been on it now for 8 weeks and I know in the information it doesnt say anythign about drinking with alcohol? I have noticed that when i have...I a. do things completely out of character - i tried to kiss 2 boys in front of my boyfriend for example!! and b. i tend to get more drunk quickly on less alcohol than before.

I am now off the alcohol after pretty much ruining my relationship and losing some friends for being completely bonkers on it but my question is, was it the alcohol mixing with the medication and has anyone got any stories they can relate this too? I tried to explain to my then bf that it wasnt me and i dont remember a thing (total blackout pretty much) and it was the meds with the alcohol..but he said i cant use that as an excuse and it has nothing to do with that and 'he doesnt get why i acted this way' (twice on 2 seperate incidents)

also i have noticed the followin side effects - crazy, realistic, sometimes violent dreams / hot flushes all the time! / restlessness and not being able to sleep = which are common on flouxetine but maybe i should try something else? the anxiety does however seem to be better.

thanks for reading folks!

I think the combo effects you more than most. I take both(20mg of fluoxetine) and don't have those issues but and am used to it since taking it for 20 yrs and being over 180 lbs. I would say the prozac is the one doing this(along with the alcohol) so drinking less is best. Blacking out is a sure sign of too much drink period. If you have taken that dose longer than 2 moths lower it or try zoloft. If not they may go away as your system gets used to it. Alankay.
