Hello all,
A little over 3 months ago, I started to have anxiety over irrational thoughts that seem to be out of my control. There are some good days and bad days but I haven't really had a normal day since then. The thoughts are mostly inappropriate impulses or thoughts that include violence towards myself and others, socially inappropriate things like yelling out in the middle of a room and random things like knocking over objects or throwing things. My mind seems to pick the most inappropriate action and then makes me feel very uncomfortable. Some of the violent thoughts are also accomanied by graphic images. I did see a Psychologist who reassured me that it was a Phobia of impulsive actions and that they usually resolve on their own or are easily treated. I don't have any mental health history and I am in my late 20's but I am still concerned. Can anybody relate?
Many thanks,
M
