Everytime I go to the dr my bp goes sky high. I cant seem to relax when they pull out the bp cuff. I can actually feel my anxiety act up and my bp rise. It was 170/100. We checked it again before I left and it had dropped to 150/84 but I still wasn't relaxed all the way. It looks like im gonna have to go back on clonidine.. Anyones else's bp rise dramatically at the dr?

Mine! It's called white coat syndrome.

My resting BP is usually between 117-120/75. But at the doc's it'll shoot up to 150-160/98. My doc wanted me on metoprolol last visit until I proved my BP is usually pretty normal.

Yep, same issue here. Mine is normally 115-119/65-75 and every time I'm at the doctor it's in the 130's/90's...it's never gone up much higher than that, but my previous doctor who I am not seeing anymore told me I had chronic high blood pressure. I explained that it isn't regularly that high and she said, "High blood pressure is high blood pressure." Whatever that means! She didn't prescribe anything for it, though.

In always get mad waiting past the time I'm supposed to be there, in turn raised blood pressure. They cause it in a number of ways!

Checked it here at the house and its 132/81, which isn't too bad for me
