Hey guys, it's my third day of weaning off Zoloft. I was already on the minimized dose (25mg) and so far nothing that terrible. I have been on the mediation for 6 months and decided that right now I don't need it. I'm experiencing some blurred Vision, weakness and a headache. Is that common?
My allergies have been going crazy but I'm guessing that's because of the weather over here.
I'm just curious to see if anyone on the weaning process or have been on the process and how it affected you.
Thanks :)

Add more liquid to your menu, both liquid and food. As you wean off zoloft, you have to be careful to keep up your normal balance to help you manage the symptoms as you wean off it. You're doing it slowly, so relax, and do some fingertip massages of your face, neck and see if that helps to reduce the sensations you are dealing with at the moment.

Anti-histamine can help reduce the physical symptoms as well. Just be careful, and keep track of all your symptoms.

Best wishes.

I quit cold turkey from 50 mg zoloft. My discontinuation symptoms are insomnia and brain zaps.

Thanks guys!

Yeah I have cold right now so I'm mixing the feeling of my cold and weaning off Zoloft together. I am drinking lots of water to keep myself hydrated. Sleeping at night is not as bad. I hear it can take about 2 weeks to a month to really wean off completely?
Why did you quit cold turkey? But I guess your symptoms are not as bad as your saying so that's good. I don't understand this whole "brain zap" thing. I mean I know I get them but technically what is being zapped? Whenever I move my head or tilt Ill feel a "zap". I don't know but it sure is weird.

At first I was on 100 mg zoloft. I then reduced it to 50 mg (dividing 100 mg pills into two). Then quit completely(it was hard to divide already divided pills any further). The brain zap is a hard to describe sensation. It is a kind of electric feeling going through the head for a few seconds. Makes you feel weak and lightheaded when it strikes.
