Hello

I’ve been taking Remeron 3.75mg for the last week for my insomnia & anxierty.

I'm sleeping better thanks to Remeron but besides the usual grogginess and dizziness which last until 5PM, I also getting mid day anxiety and jitters.

a) Besides drinking a lot of cofee, what else can be done to lower the grogginess and dizziness? (Its very difficult to concentrate at work).

b) Have any one else experiencing the same feeling of mid day anxiety and jitters on low dose of Remeron?

c) Are there any noticeable differences between 3.75mg & 7.5mg? Do you think if I increase my dose to 7.5mg the mid day anxiety and jitters will be reduced to some degree?

Remeron didn't work for my anxiety and it made me gain about 50 pounds :(

Lynn, I hated that weight gain. It was about 20lbs for me. It worked, so it was a fair trade off.

Sal h, 3.5mg is such a low dose, I'm suprised it would do anything other than make you sleepy. I didnt think theraputic doses started until you got to 30mg, I thought all others were just sleep aids. At 30mg, my jitters begun to go, at 7.5, I may well have just taken a smartie, and saved myself the side effects. Are you using it like a Benzo??

It was amazing for sleep though

Hi,
My docyor just put me on remeron but im nervous about the weight gain! He gave me 15 mg and to cut in half along with one trazodone at night. Iam not even sure if i want to fill script. I had mentioned depression and anxiety to my psychologist and all he recc is a sleeping pill. Iam currently on 90 mg cymbalta. And was on 150 trazodone nightly but still was not sleeping well

I never knew remeron causes weight gain! I was on it, then off of it, then I had to get back on to sleep at night. I have to make sure I'm getting at least 8-9 hours of sleep from the time I take the pill til I need to be up and that grogginess will go away. But if I take it and only get like 5 hours asleep I'm done! I've never noticed any kind of afternoon jitteriness as a result of this..
