Yeah. These days my anxiety has gotten so bad I have to take a .5 every eight hours (dr orders) but back when it was every once in awhile I would take it when I started feeling the chest tightness that comes with the panic attack

I have Ativan 8 months still scared to try it. Getting to that point where I will . Fed up
I have the same problem, and also take .5 Lorazepam nearly daily at this pont. Though, sometimes I go 4 days without one - feels weird to be dependent on a pill for the first time of my life.

If you are scared to take it, ask the doc if you can split it and only take half. That's what I do with my xanax. I split my .25 pill and take half and that's good for me.

I've had Ativan I like it It worked well. I have xanax but its now causing me to have blackouts so I haven't took it in weeks. I've been googling what I should try but I'm scared of the side effects ;-/

I did not want to be on this every day but I was so miserable that during my follow up visit with my doc I was crying about being scared of the meds. She reassured me and made me promise to take them everyday. I'm glad I listened. It's such a low dose that some days I can still feel the anxiety but it's muted. I'm hotel that in a few weeks my new antidepressants well be working and I won't have to take these everyday but until then it's nice to have some semblance of normality.

Stay away from Google.....it will cause you to worry more....
Well, not everyone handles medicine the same way...perhaps xanax just isn't for you....I've never tried Ativan, but maybe it is the type of pill that can be split...so half the dosage could be a starting point. At least if it isn't providing enough relief then you can take the other half.

I did take xanax for years with no problem but its really only for short term use I think that why that happened. It worked great for me. The Ativan I had was the size of a tiny crumb lol (I can't think of anything that small at the moment)
And yes google gives me anxiety I google EVERYTHING!

Research Hyperventilation Syndrome and Buteyko Breathing. The panic/breathing deal is breathing out too much CO2, not lack of oxygen.

Google if you need to know... For some not knowing more is more anxiety ... But you can't believe all you hear and read
Yes be careful what read on internet and make sure good website like NHS or mental health forum etc, otherwise can make yourself more worried than necessary.
