Hello everyone,

I've been a frequent anonymous visitor of this forum in the past, but this is my first post ever here. This forum has been a great help in my search for a solution for my problems in the past. But I guess my anxiety held me back from posting.
About a year ago, I went through a period where I was suffering badly from anxiety and panic attacks. These were caused by some stressful events happening in my life in quick succession. I got socially anxious, didn’t leave the house and had breathing problems caused by stress. Since I didn't trust the typical medication like Zoloft, I mostly tried natural remedies and holistic treatment. This worked so well for me I decided to delve into it. I am now a licensed massage therapist and nutritionist. I'm completely recovered from my anxiety and panic attacks.
I did yoga, meditation, aroma therapy and changed my diet completely. I found lots of info about it here, you're all lovely people!
I'd love to hear from other people who have had success with these methods.

Bye
Amy

Amy, I am doing the same! I was prescribed zoloft and refuse to take it. I have been working with my naturopath, purchased essential oils and have been taking homeopathy to help with my every day anxiety. I have had a lot of stress and anxiety in the past month that has caused everyday symptoms like shortness of breath, heart palpitations, fear, and a constant struggle. I am in the early stages of recovering and it's still very hard, but I will work to get there! Could you please let me know what remedies you were taking and what worked for you?

That's great Amy! What you're doing is exactly what everyone should do. I do the exact same thing. I engage in a lot of yoga, biking, swimming, and sports. Many people who suffer from anxiety fail to realize that the mind is use to patterns. If we train our minds to think positive by living an overall healthy lifestyle, our sub-conscious picks up on this. Therefore, our whole outlook on life begins to change for the better. Glad to hear you overcame your anxiety issues. A true inspiration to others indeed. :)

Thanks for the kind responses everyone!
I first discovered about meditation and yoga while on vacation in South-East Asia. I quickly delved into these methods and found they were just perfect for me! Also while in Asia, I spoke to a lot of people about the Budhist lifestyle, which revolves around love and compassion. This really opened my eyes, there is another world beyond the hasty, busy and anti-social western society. I surrounded myself with like-minded people and did not listen to the pessimists and cynical people. I really threw myself at the holistic therapies, and they worked! Perhaps mostly because I truly believed they were gonna work. After all, it's all in our minds!

Hi Amy

I been having really bad anxiety, dizziness and panic for 5 months now. I take 75 mg of zoloft but still feeling crappy. My husband's coworker suggested Holistic treatment . I might try that
