Zoloft

Quick question, I have been put on a low dosage of zoloft, 25mg. I am just at my end with my anxiety and depression. But I need to know if it is safe to crush this already tiny pill? I am having difficulties swallowing pills.

I don't know about crushing up the pills I take 50 mg of Zoloft and they are very tiny pills but I have fears of meds so I take mine with pop I take a drink and tilt my head back pop the pill in and swallow because of the fizz I can't tell where the pill is in my mouth ... I would call your local pharmacy and ask them about Cushing up the pill

Also some meds have time release so to much of the med at once may be a bad thing

I called them pharmacist and she said it should be fine and I should not worry. I did whoever just cut it in half and take one half and then crushed the other half. They have a liquid form of zoloft, so I may try that. I don't believe zoloft is time released, but I could be mistaken

drop it into an 8 oz. glass of water - let is dissolve and drink it down. What is it about you younger people with swallowing pills. Both my sons have issues too.

Bajablue lol your funny my fear comes from a sever allergic reaction to sulfa based medicine I was 16 and legally dead for 5 min on the bathroom floor .... 2 shots of adrenalin to the heart and they zapped me with the paddles 3 times on the way to hospital so now all meds scare the crap out of me

It has just recently started. I use to take so many vitamins and don't now because of it. Hopefully, it won't last too long

I've had a pill stuck in my throat once, this still gives me an unrational fear when taking pills.
I always ask for something different then pills if possible, if not I also crush and dissolve them in a glass of water.

Hi Brittle. I just called my phamacist about your question re crushing zolof. She found no information saying you can't but suggested breaking the talet in half and swallowing it that way, maybe in some applesauce or yogurt. They are very small tablets (I take it, too) and can safely be cut in half. 1/2 would be so tiny it would pretty much disappear in yogurt or whatever you swallow it with. Good luck!

Oh, and by the way, zoloft also comes in a liquid form. Maybe you could ask for that.

I used to use Zoloft in the liquid form. You have to dilute it with water, ginger ale, etc.

Remind yourself if you can eat, you can swallow a pill. Practice overcoming your fear, or it will win every time.
