Hi everyone. I was just released from a voluntary psychiatric hospitalization program. I was encouraged to join an online support community and this one seems great. I'm a middle school art teacher. I have major depression, OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, ADHD and sensory disorder. I'm 27 now and have been suffering since I was 13 and have been through years of therapy and countless medication with little to no alleviation. The program I just got released from helped tremendously though and I'm hopeful my new meds will work (klonpin, adderal, lexapro, Wellbutrin and abilify) I'm here both for support as well as sharing my knowledge of cbt and my knowledge of the afformentioned diseases. I love my psych doc, but want to talk to real people who suffer from the same diseases as me. My wife does not understand and is close to divorcing me because of my symptoms. Again, thank you and I look forward to being a part of this community!

Is supposed to be excellent. Share with the crew here how it works on the medication forum. My anxiety started at 28 and I am now 54. But the first couple years were the worst and I have gone long periods - years at a time with relief from it. No illusions about escaping it entirely at this stage regardless of all the books that say you can. I try to live day to day. To live with hope and to take care of myself in the ways I know are healthy for my condition.

Welcome to the site and to a place where others know exactly what you are going through.

Thanks so much. I'll be sure to discuss abilify in the medication thread. I agree completely that getting to 100% with out disease is not likely and am now taking it day by day. Accepting that you'll have bad days helps a lot for me. Thanks for the reply and nice to meet you!
