Hey everyone, erm I'm 28 from the UK, suffered with anxiety since I was attacked twice in the space of a month, I'm actually house bound with it even though I'm not 100% sure on that being the reason it's the only logical one I can think of, anyway, I used to be on paroxetine, and now I currently have a repeat prescription of 30mg Mirtazipine, now I was on 15mg and was doing OK, but I was sleeping way to much so they increased it to 30mg, now I randomly this week ran out, without having a prescription in and I think it's been about 4 days now, whenever this has happened before I just kinda freak out until I get them but I'm not and it boguht me here to ask a few questions really, maybe get answers from people with similar experiences to myself.

1. Should I take this opportunity to go to the doctors and try something new, whilst actually trying to get someone to talk to, I tried this once and it only last for 1 session, when I'm bad my life basically comes to a stand still and I don't even leave the room let alone house aha.

2. Should I consider natural remedies, has anyone tried them? and just try finding someone to talk to? Anyway nice to meet you everyone I'm Chris

3. Is there a different drug I could ask the doctor to try that my effect me better? I currently sleep at 6am all through until like 6, I literaly do not sleep until I'm exhausted because of the anxiety etc

Chris, if the Mirtazipine was helping at 15 mg resume it at 30 mg and see how you do. It will take time to fully work. If your anxiety is severe and debilitating, ask about a benzo like valium, klonopin or ativan. I know it's hard to get an RX for a benzo there thanks to Dr. Aston but ask about it as your anxiety seems to be severe and disabling. Then just use the benzo for tough days and stay on the AD. PM me any time. Alankay

Hey Alankay sorry I tried to pm can't yet, I probably didn't explain it well enough but I've been on 30mg for about just under a year now, I read a few articles online and it said that Mirtazipine dosn't actually treat the anxiety? Don't know how much truth there is in that but maybe that has something to do with why I may feel a little worse?

The reason why I made this post originally was because I feel great and I have no idea why, whenever I have missed my meds for a few days I have felt horrible, you know that constant anxious adrenaline thing, but for some reason I feel amazing, like going to the front door and wanting to look outside at the world? Wanting to tidy etc, I know these are not big things but they are massive to me, on the mirtazipine I never feel happy or content, I just 'cope' if people can understand that? I'm getting my new lot tomorrow but this is really making me question whether I should carry on with them?

So do you feel great on the paxil and just so so on Mirtazipine? If so get back on the paxil unless there some good reason to go off it.
No these med don't cure anything. They ease symptoms by a "nudge" neurologically. Some get a great response others not but most do get benefit. Alankay

Hiya sorry I have no idea what paxil is? if you mean the paroxetein I had before, I came off it because I was becoming anxious more frequently and it was getting worse. The mirtzazipine I took 15mg at first, and I felt better but I was like doing nothing, sleeping all the time so I didn't really have much time awake to be able to feel anything other than OK if that makes sense. The doctor increased it to 30mg about 8ish months ago, and I've had a repeat ever since.

So do I just take them if I start to feel anxious again? Or should I just make an appointment to explain this feeling? I'm kinda sat here waiting for this horrible feeling I usually have had when I have missed just two days, it's been almost 5 days now and I feel better than when I was on them, and it feels weird saying because you know how we can rely on these as like our saving grace.

I swear I already replied to this message sorry maybe it got deleted, but I have no idea what paxil is unless you mean the paroxetine, I think I felt pretty much the same on both, still not feeling up to doing much, though the mirt helped me sleep better but at strange hours. I'm worried because I feel alright atm? Because when you have had it for years you kind of worry when you feel ok? If that makes any sense, because you always expect something to be wrong.

For some reason my quick reply wasn't working, I had replied twice, I have no idea what Paxil is, but if you mean the paroxeteine I was on before, no about the same effect/anxiety level, though can sleep a tad more on the mirt.
