First of all, you need to calm down - I know that this is about as redundant as saying snap out of it, but hyperventilating can't really hurt you.
Are you working from your iPhone? If so, download a free application called relax lite - it has breathing programs that will cue to to inhale and exhale at a rate which will help you restore oxygen to your blood in correct amounts.
I don't know if you have a paper bag handy, but I find it very helpful to see the bag inflate as I breathe - some people don't like it and there are no real benefits to this, but it has helped me a lot in the past. It reminds me that I am getting breath in and out when I feel like I am struggling.
If your chest is really hurting after another hour, go to your nearest wall in clinic or to the ER. It is better to be safe than sorry, they will check your vitals and they should be able to prescribe you something to help you relax a bit.
I hope you're feeling better soon. Hyperventilating is one of my major symptoms and it sucks.

Anxiety can make us feel so many scary symptoms. I hate it. I am always afraid I will not know if I am having a heart attack or not:(
