Caught a nasty head cold today, accompanied with a terrible sinus headache. Took 250mg of acetaminophen and 250mg of aspirin at about 6:00 AM, at about 10:30-11 AM took some cold medicine that contains 900mg of Acetaminophen. Then some cheerful and positive individual told me "Whoaaaaaaaa, did you know that some people go into liver failure at just 1,500mg of that stuff??" and I was like "Thankyou for telling me that, welcome back anxiety."
So I'm just wondering if that sounds like a dangerous amount to you guys? Got the "uh oh" feeling coming on again, and trying to stabilize it :/

Is that paracetamol? If it is you'll be fine!

Just googled it, it is the same as paracetamol. I usually take a 1000mg at a time up to 4 times a day. You'll be fine, you'd have to take a whole packet all at once to suffer from liver failure I think.

The first one (250 and 250) was Excedrin Migraine medicine. Second was called Sato brand "Stona Sinus-S Gel" It is a Japanese brand.
I think I'll be fine now, I've been researching on google for about an hour now, and it seems a one time deal of that much is fine. PHEW. So glad I prevented the anxiety from escalating to full panic... that would have been real bad, methinks. (Btw J, your inbox is full :P)
Thanks though! Hearing it from somebody else always helps one calm down. :]

It is? Didn't realise sorry! You can take that much as long as you leave a 4 hour gap inbetween :D

That's fine, max strength tylenol is 500mg, the dose is 2 at a time, so per the recommended dose you would take 1000mg. The general rule of thumb is 4000mg daily, however different things for different people but I don't think the dose you took is too high, especially since you had a gap in the middle.
