My doctor is starting me on Lexapro tonight. I've read great things...and truthfully I'm desperate to get my anxiety under control. 5mg to start this week...I'm really sensitive to Meds and then we will increase it.
Has anyone been on this?
I started a new job that is doing the work of 3 people and the last few weeks have been terribly difficult.
I just needs to know that I can be helped.

Yes I've been in the generic form of lexapro for 3.5 weeks at 10mg and can see an improvement. Look for my posts about it. Kind do like a journal. It took a good 2-3 weeks to see an improvement and less side effects.

It's great, I'm 4 weeks today on lexapro and life is so much easier. I'm still me, just less anxious. I started on 5mg and had very mild side effects - headache, nausea, fatigue. I'm on 15mg now, with no side effects.

I've been on lexapro for a little over a year now and I love it. I had some nausea at 1st but my dr told me to take it with dairy (yogurt, bowl of cereal) and that helped. I did have a bad reaction to the generic, but went back on brand no problem. It took me a while to realize that I was looking people in the eye and smiling at them instead of staring at my feet.

Thank you-he gave me the generic too! The thing is I know you have to take these Meds the sane time every night-but I don't get home and eat dinner at the sane time each night. Do you think it's ok to take it 2-3 hours apart?

I take mine in the mornings around 7:30. I wasn't sure what you meant by 2-3 hrs apart, do you mean 2-3 hours later then normal? Could you take the pills with you and take at lunch?

Yes, I meant 2-3 hours apart. The thing is I barely have an appetite and haven't been eating a real lunch-I'm lucky if I get crackers and soup. That's why my dr prefers I take it after dinner...because at least when I get home (between 7:30pm and 9pm) ill eat something more substantial.

I have been taking generic of lexapro for two weeks and still waiting for it to work. My anxiety is almost all job related. Also on lorazepam as needed but try to limit that since I hear it can be very addictive.

How about 8:30? That's sort of in the middle? That should be ok.

I had A very bad anxiety started 5 weeks ago .. I also took the generic lexapro

But I asked my doctor to do some tests for me and I found that my "vitamin D " level is very low . I found out most of the people suffering from depression have a very low vitamin D in there body and they became much better after taking the vitamin D ..
You guys needs to Check your vitamin D level too . You can search the Internet ( depression and vitamin D) you will find its related somehow ,, good luck
