I've had difficulty sleeping for the past year. My doctor put me on Viibryd to help with my anxiety and also Lunesta to take with it. Lunesta did nothing for me. I still go to bed around 10-11, use the restroom at 4, and am up by 530-6. Its nerve wrecking. I toss and turn and try to get back to bed, but its useless. I've tried meditation apps but its no use. I've replaced the lunesta with melatonin but that's just as useless.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

I have huge obligations in December and I haven't had a goods nights rest in months.

Thanks to everyone here and I wish you peace in your own journey.

Marni.

Marni,

I'm sorry that you're having such a hard time right now. I'm thinking back to when I had serious problems sleeping, and I remember how I accidentally cured it. I moved, and we were fixing up the place. I worked so hard all day long, I just collapsed at the end of the day. After that, it was like my internal clock was re-set. Can you do a work-out before bed? A lot of times, exercise will help wake you up, so there is a possibility it won't work, but I think the thing is to be exhausted.

You already tried prescriptions and Melatonin. The only other drug I can suggest is Benedryl. I hope you are able to find something that works for you. Let us know how you're doing.

I agree with Sunnie. Exercise before bed does wonders. I've been unable to sleep without melatonin for about six months. Sometimes even being exhausted from a long day doesn't help me sleep but exercise usually does.

Hi,if the conventional meds don't work maybe natural ones might. I have had success using Valerian, passionflower magnesium and exercise have helped me. I've been off of this regiment for a week due to a cold and i can tell the difference; I'm having a hell of a time.
