Does anyone have any hobbies to distract you from your anxiety? If so what are they?

I enjoy taking a nice long walk. It's exercise and a good time to clear my thoughts. I also cook and read. Both keep me busy and help me relax. What about yourself?

Hi. I bake insanely. I just do. I buy loads of baking mix boxes and just go through them all. I bring them to work and share them with everyone. It makes me happy that I'm giving back.

Also, I visit my family and just sit there with them.

Running is great. Even walking. My dog enjoys it and we bond a lot together.

Good luck in your journey of finding what you need.

Marni.

I do art projects, make jewelry, paint my nails, take photographs, and write. Usually every holiday, like Christmas and Valentine's Day, I would make jewelry and art for everyone at the office (about 75 people). Now that I'm out for disability, I'll have to find other avenues.

I write, and a lot. It doesn't matter if my writing has form or it's just gobbledegook, it helps take my mind off of my racing thoughts. I also take a walk somewhere and listen to my music on my iPod.

I cook and read too but it doesnt seem to distract me anymore. I feel like i dont enjoy the things that i used to. I do anything to keep me busy during the day but at night nothing at all helps. As soon as its dark out i start panicking and i just feel as though i cant be alone

I totally know what you mean! Everything is cool at 2pm, but at 2am, I feel like the world is ending, like I'm nothing and no one and bringing everyone down. My darkest thoughts of self harm come at that time.

I find it really hard to concentrate on anything whilst in full panic mode I couldn't possibly read a book but I have downloaded a few games on my phone and play them to try to distract me sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't x

Whatever i do nothing will distract me in the middle of the night. My biggest fear right now is that the world is ending i try so hard to convince myself that everything is ok. I feel stupid saying it out loud or even thinking it but i just cant help it. I dont even think about self harming id b too scared of that too!

exercise with some calm, instrumental music on the iPod. It helps me divorce myself from the world for a brief period of time and this calms me down.
