Just wondering if anyone else out there has extreme workplace anxiety like me and if they told their boss about it? Did it help or hurt ur job? I feel like they should know why I'm as stressed as I am at Wk, but I'm afraid it could hurt me in the long run. Not quite sure what to do. Any thoughts?

I have never discussed it with my boss. The economy is just too bad. It is an employers market unfortunately.

This is true. I am guaranteed my job for 2 yrs...is it bad that after that 2yrs I'm hoping to be let go? If I could figure out a way to not Wk or only Wk pt time I think I'd b a lot happier.

I might mention it but be vague. Just mention "stress" or "life difficulties" as unless anxious themselves or a medical pro, they won't really understand it(chances are). So IMHO it's OK to bring up "having a hard time", "stress problems", "family/personal struggles"(which all of us have in some way at some time) but end it there. You don't have to go into too much detail accept with HR maybe. They(HR) can't discuss too much in super detail medically but it might help to ask about reducing hours. They might be open to talking about that. I have been surprised in the past when bosses find out you having trouble, they actually show compassion. I think it helps them to know when an issue is a problem with you personally and not with work or your boss per se. Alankay

I work at a cancer center doing all the financial stuff for our patients. It's a high stress job so I think they would understand I just don't know how or when to bring it up.
