I'm on day 10 of paxil and I feel okay the shaky jitters are going away and all that but today as I was looking for a movie on Netflix these weird thoughts crossed through my mind like what it would be like to kill someone or myself or hurt them and I neverrrrrr think this way! I freaked out and took an Ativan and it all went away. Is this normal? Should I continue taking paxil? Or should I just quit it. This is the first time this has happened. Is this just a normal side effect in the beginning of paxil? Cuz it seems I am just now starting to get my body used to it. I haven't had any headaches or nausea just the shakiness which is now pretty much gone and then that crap popped in my head today. Could it somehow be linked to panic? Idk how to explain it but it didn't feel right it didn't feel like I was thinking those thoughts ugh omg I feel so crazy.....

Hello!!!

Were they thoughts or did you feel an urge to act? Sometimes these things happen... Everybody has experienced that weird urge of jumping out when standing by a window. And many other weird urges of the kind. They are fleeting and they go away. They are also common and normal. (Check this thread which I googled for you: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110223130018AACYE5g )

It seems to me that you're very anxious about taking Paxil and that anything slightly weird that is bound to happen you'll write off as a side effect. Keep us posted!!!

Thanks Siegfried soooo much! And they were just thoughts but it was like I couldn't get them to stop. And then I just felt like angry and aggravated. It was a really weird feeling. Very hard to describe. I freaked out and took an Ativan and in like 10 minutes I was perfectly fine.

Yu did the right thing. If you need it, take it. It's still early for Paxil to be fully working, and you seem to already be much better. I'm very sanguine about your case! I just hope you are too!!!

Hi - If those thoughts continue I would definitely bring it up to your dr. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Siegfried, can you suggest something to take. So sick of being a basket case.

What is your problem, exactly? Are you being followed by a doctor?

How long have you been taking it?

If she didn't understand and respect you in times of sorrow, then maybe she wasn't the right person!!!

Thank you, those words made me feel a whole lot better. I have been on medication for three years and it is still a fight. No she didnt realise at all.

Then I suggest you get a second opinion. You should not be struggling. You should be feeling great. If cymbalta is not working, something else will.

I'm glad you say that. There are many wonderful people out there. You'll find one with strength of character, who values you, and respects your struggle. Meanwhile: it's better to be alone than with vile company. ;-)

So far I haven't had those thoughts again. But I am definitely watching out for that and will talk to my dr about it when I go. I am doing a lot better. :)

I'm very glad that you're better. Hopefully soon you won't say "I'm better", you'll say "I'm fine!"

If you would like to know what caused those thoughts . Its from too much serotonin in your brain .

Confirmed by both the physicist i was seeing and a long term mental health nurse .

I had the same problem, sat at a table and thought how it would be to stab everyone .

Only once but that was enough . Talk to your doctor about it .

I for sure will. Thanks.
