They will go after awhile. Distract yourself. And dont think about it. Its not easy, but if you keep thinking of it, it will just beat harder and faster and you panic about it and it will just go in circles with each circle just making you panic even more.
This being said, im assuming all ECGs and blood tests came back normal.

The only thing that helps mine is beta blockers. But if you don't want to go down the route of taking pills you could try relaxation techniques, yoga, breathing exercises etc.

I started on 80mg slow release tablets (propranolol) which I took once a day. After a few months I slowly reduced the dose and now take 10mg daily (sometimes 20mg if work is really stressful). I have had no negative side effects from them and they have helped me so much. I used to always have a racing heart, plapitations, shakes etc when i was overcome with panic but now that never happens. Therapy also helped a lot- combining meds and talking therapies is usually the way out of anxiety.

So one can come off of it with dr guidance and not get scary side effects ?
Never take beta blockers they have tons of side effects and yes they come with scary side effects when you come of them. palipitations will always stay there aslong you have anxiety so its better to try to face the reasons for your anxiety and try to cure it rather than taking pills to overcome one of its side effects. I Just dont think about them when they come.

My doctors reason for putting me on the beta blocker is because I wake every morning with a racing heart rate and eventually it could be dangerous .. She says its temporary :/

In my opinion SSRI's have much more side effects and are much more difficult to come off than beta blockers. I promise you I had no side effects when I started or when I reduced them- all was done with my doctors guidance and I was fine. SSRI's on the other hand are a different story! Everyone is different though and if you do take them and experience bad side effects then you stop them. Every drug has a hugs list of possible side effects but that does not mean you will experience them. Visit your doctor and explain any worries to him- we are not medical professionals and can only give opinions and go by our own experiences.
I also feel that it is unfair that some people come on here and scare others into not taking meds- people with anxiety are vulnerable and should go by professional advice and use forums for guidance but many take what is said here as fact due to their anxious states. If a medical professional has prescribed someone a drug which they are already nervous about taking then can people here please give encouragement as telling them it will not help and will make them ill is really out of order.
