Hey guys, i quit taking ssri's after 8 years(not cold turkey)...its been a month now and i still have horible withdrawal symptoms...I started drinking St John's Wort and its so much better with it.But is it okey to do that? Isn't it just prolonging my withdrawal? should i just stay and dont take any herbs and supplements? I intend to drink st john's wort tea for a month but im afraid that when i will stop drinking it i will have the withdrawal symptoms at their full potential again. My english is not very good so i hope you understand what i mean. Thanks.

Hello Sergiu!

After eight years on an SSRI (which one, btw?) withdrawal must be slow. Could you tell me more about your withdrawal? Namely dates and doses?

As to that tea, if you're feeling better with it, keep taking it. Discuss what you're feeling with your doctors, and don't feel pressured into stop taking it right away. St johns is a great herb, and it is not at all bad for you if taken correctly. From what you wrote I sense that you may be putting too much pressure on yourself to stop taking any supplement, but easy does it, really. ;-)
