I've had anxiety on and off for over 10 years. Usually it's triggered by health. Lately I've been getting shooting pains in my heart. I didn't see anyone else describe this. Has this happened to anyone? I went off med's (lowest dosage of Zoloft almost a year ago) I know I can go back on it but would really rather not. Has anyone felt shooting pains in their chest??

Hi, Have you gotten an all clear from your DR meaning that you were told it is just anxiety and nothing else? I have chest pains on occasion but I wouldn't describe mine as shooting. Pains in the upper body are common with anxiety they are caused by all the tension of the muscles in that area.

Acid reflux can also cause similiar discomfort. Take care.

Welcome Wbabs :) I would check with a doc...could be anxiety but always good for reassurance and put your mind at ease.

When I have my attacks I get horrible stabbing pains in my chest too. I also have my legs and arms go numb, my face tingles, dizzy, sweat, scatter brained and etc. it's a horrible feeling.

Hi there I get terrible chest pains which is caused from anxiety .
But if you get other symptoms with chest pain then it needs looking into to rule stuff out.
But most chest pain is associated with anxiety
Just freaks you out having pain in chest area ..

Anxiety and depression are beasts

My heart flutters when I get anxiety some times and that scares me but I looked it up and its common

Yes,I get shooting pains, tingling face, sweaty....all of the above. I'm told it is from GERD or gas. I hope you are feeling better
