Deleted my Facebook in December last year due to the massive anxiety it caused.

Have braved a new profile but already skeptical about it :S

Anyone else bothered by it, or just me?

Facebook is great because it's so flexible- It's up to you to choose how to use it- Meeting new people, checking out what old friends are up to, showing friends what you have been doing, playing games, etc.

The privacy settings give you extreme control- I'd highly recommend making it so people who aren't your friends can't see any of your stuff. You can make it so they can't even see your profile picture, or can't even find you! There are also ways to separate your friends into different groups, so some posts only show up for your close friends, while others show up to all your friends.

Tight control of your information should help with some of the anxiety.

I deleted my Facebook too, but I believe for different reasons.

In the beginning of my anxiety I started to isolate myself and ignore all my friends calls, would tell them I'd go out and never show up. Eventually everyone stopped calling me and I felt alone.

I deleted my facebook because I saw the pictures of everyone enjoying going out while I was at home struggling with anxiety and panic.

I've have made great strives since then. I know one day all my friendships will return, and new ones will be made.

Maybe one day I'll even make a new facebook lol, but I really don't mind having one.

It was not about security it was for your reason.

I was mid-breakdown. I didn't want to see ppl who didn't understand have advise for my feelings or see pictures of friend get togethers to not be invited etc

I lost a lot of friend through Facebook but now I only have the ppl that care.

I like to use Facebook to interact with people when I don't feel like I have the umph to deal with them face to face. If it starts to bother my I just don't log in.

i know what you mean about real friends hfft,but i dont drive so i dont get a chance to get out and about to see them.and most of them have small kids .so are tied up with them.but with fb i can have a great chat .and sharon im gonna add you lol

It's good to put names to faces that we talk to . Just people that have added me or gonna , just don't mention anything about anxiety etc on my wall , some of my mates know about it but there is a few that I dont want knowing as we all have these , cheers :) .

I deleteted my FB accound. And signed up with an alias nickname. Then I had control of who I decided to befriend.
Works very well. And there is NO personal info on there about the real me.

Facebook, I don't trust. They even use your pictures to track other people, so I don't Tag anyone.

Your not giving your info out its merely to discuss our anxiety amongst EACHOTHER who prefer to have a faster response and friendlier conversations then be on here waiting for a reply or some negative bs "some" people say. It's all for the ones who feel comfortable with talking about amongst eachother? I love it and the few people we have on it .

Oh it'd be cool to have you guys. Got a lil Facebook version of this running with only ten private members and it's all secret etc so no one outside the Facebook page can see anything to do with it. It's been nice seeing the ppl I talk to often.

Obviously up to you but your more then welcome to add me and I'll post you on the group.
