I was diagnosed with a migraine disorder earlier this year. I've been getting very bad Ice Pick headaches lately. I can't take NSAIDs because they thin blood and my nose will bleed like a fountain. The only drug I can take for Ice Pick Headache prevention is Gabapentin (because my SSRIs aren't working for the headaches, and a higher dose will make me depressed)
I have to choose because excruciating pain 8 times a day for minutes at a time, or anxiety all the time.
I don't know if Gabapentin helps anxiety, as I have never taken it. In my conversation with a friend in neurology, he said that it is likely the Neuro who I am seeing will script me Gabapentin for 2-3 times daily.
Does Gabapentin help anxiety? If it doesn't, which would you choose, Anxiety or Pain?
