I have been feeling lathargic and unable to concentrate for some time now. I recently went to a GP because of shortness of breath and didn't find anything wrong with me physically, but said I have anxiety.

Here are my symptoms:

Unable to concentrate
Wake up feeling tired
Tired all the time
Shortness of Breath
Worry about stupid things
Dream about worries
Wake up and the first thought is my worries

My worst problem is definetly my concentration issue. It is really hard for me to do anything anymore, but I am not sure if this is because of my anxiety. I try to reason something and my mind stops working, it's hard to explain. I also have a hard time recalling things even if they where just yesterday.

My anxiety started about 3 years ago and I had severe sleeping problems for some time but they seem to be gone now.

Thanks for your time.

Is anxiety curable? My doctor gave me dianxit but I don't want to get addicted to medication.

Even when I go to bed I keep thinking someone is going to come wake me up. Ir's really weird. I also have stupid thoughts like thinking my sister is going to die etc.

In my opinion anxiety isn't curable as such but it is totally manageable and you can live a happy, "normal" life if you have suffered from it. It takes hard work though like making lifestyle changes (healthy eating, exercise, relaxation etc), seeing a therapist/counsellor/psych to work out the root of the problems and to learn how to deal with them and also medication if need be.
Your symptoms sound very typical of anxiety. Have you spoken to a specialist about your problems? B x

Not yet. You think it will help?

Should I try Dianxit for the short term?

Therapy will def be a big help. I think it will give you an understanding of why you are going through what you are and how to cope. It has really helped me in the past and let me get to grips with my anxiety. I do not know too much about that drug but found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flupentixol/melitracen. I would not be too happy taking a drug that not much is known about I'm not a doctor so it's a personal choice. A more common med route to go down is getting an SSRI and benzo if necessary. maybe others here can help you more on the medication front.

Yes I had already found this that is why I am asking here if anyone has tried it. I already took it for one week only and it did help me a bit but not a lot. I definitely dont feel "normal" again.

Sounds a bit more like depression as I didn't see you mention fear/panic/dread/excessive worry and/or being very distressed. Could be some of both of course. But what is dominant? (1)Fear/panic/anxiety or (2)low energy/lack of focus or interest in the usual things? Alankay

The second seems more dominant... I don't even feel like doing anything anymore. It's hard to explain but it constantly feels like I have fog in my brain, like it is too tired to think.

Certainly sounds like it fits with the symptoms of anxiety! Everything you mentioned is textbook anxiety. The inability to concentrate is certainly something that i get when feeling anxious!

But I cannot concentrate all day long. Its like my brain is foggy all the time. That is the main problem.

I agree above- this seems a little like depression. I suffer from both anxiety and depression and i as well feel foggy- quite often. Have you tried any medication, or just simple talk therapy? Both seem to be helping me very well.
