My name is Marcella , Im 21...and unfortunately suffer from GAD. Ive had anxeity all my life, thanks to my dad who is also has GAD, but his is 100% under control and has subsided with age....

Well Mine has not, it has peeked over the last 3 months for me, and I'm beginning to feel hopeless, but i still try to hold my head high,and try to live my life...

Recently I have been surffering from chronic neck and back pain, headaches,and dizzy spells. My Dr. prescribed me XNAX, but i am reluctant to take it, i dont want to become dependent or addicted.

So i am here to get support and hopefully get information and possibly even a CURE FOR GOOD!!

Hopefully the meds aren't addictive. But you are right they are not the full answer my dad and my uncle both suffered with this when they wheere younger, to a lesser extent than I do and now have it under control but it is still under the surface. Things are different these days though, you can seek help the illness is recognised. If possible seek therapy. If not talking here to others who also suffer like you can be a massive help. If you have any questions ask in the General forum and hopefully someone will have the answers.

Hi Marcella!

You are definitely not alone! I was exactly like you only a year or so ago... I didnt want to go on drugs and that was the best thing for me. It gave me the kick I needed to get some help (unfoprtunately that took about 28 years!) I am practically anxiety free now and no drugs. I feel for you completely, I know what you are going through, I dont know you but feel really proud of you that although you are suffering badly, you still try to go on with your life and try not to let it beat you. That was the attitude that I had. If you are prepared to face up to stuff, you can absolutely beat it. believe me, if I can, anyone can :slywink:
