Lorazepam?

Im on my 3rd week of Celexa 20mg treatment for my GAD and have been using Xanax to prevent the initial side effects (1.5mg daily, going down to 1mg)
Would switching to Lorazepam 1mg be a good idea? I dont like the risks that come w taking Xanax.

Oops, looks like you double posted.

I find that even .5mg of ativan (lorazepam) works wonders. Really levels me out. And I've been using it for trouble spots for a month and a half with no need to go over .5mg in a dose or 1mg in a day.

It still has potential risks, like addiction and dependence. But the best way to prevent it is taking a low dose, not increasing the dose, and taking it only as needed as opposed to daily.

Yes. It's a longer acting benzo which would be better for GAD as well as the nervous feeling ssri implementation can bring. Alankay
