    Brain Pacemaker Could Ease Depression

Depression sufferers who have severe depression who haven't previously responded to traditional medicine could be helped by deep brain stimulation.

The technique would involve implanting electrodes deep into an area of the brain that has been linked to depression.

The technique looks promising because 4 out of 6 who have tried other methods, that fail, deep brain stimulation works for them.

wow, duddits.. thats fascinating stuff. and kind of scary too.. just to think of the future applications of this technology to, say, alter a person's overall personality or to fix any 'inappropriate' moods, etc sends a shiver down my spine hehe. But hopefully we won't have many mad scientists getting their hand on this stuff
