    Parties

I love parties, when intoxicated, who doesn't?
But when I'm there I feel like I don't belong.
I feel terrible, I feel like it's not right, I feel weird, does anyone else get this?
I'm twisted like an Rubiks cube.

Yep. social anxiety. Many of us get that. I just try to ignore it as best can and after a while I forget I'm at a gathering and relax more. Alankay

Sazco, feeling social anxieties doesn't feel good. But it's good to realize that some other people at these parties may also feel the same kind of social anxieties as you do, but they hide it from everyone.

And knowing this can help you calm down during any social situation, whether it be at parties or any other get-together.

I feel like I shouldn't even have these though. Like it's wrong.

I went to a party last night and was too nervous to dance and have fun, I ended up sitting in the corner for most of the night

Sazco, maybe it's the type of people at these parties that make you feel like you don't belong.

I know how awful it feels to be in company with people when I have felt like they are better than me.

The hard fact is this: they are not better than you. Everyone is valuable.

Coming to believe this is a whole different ball-game and takes time and practice.

The only way I know how to begin to change this is by letting people get to know you. Start being really honest and let people get to know you. In my experience I was really surprised at how many unique qualities I had that people admired, as I thought I was the pits! You've got to let people begin to get to know you. The ugly beliefs we hold about ourselves are not true. You're just fine as you are. Good luck!
