28 yr old female. Always been pretty active. LOTS of stress in my life (family health, work, family deployment, etc) that seems to pile up every time I get it knocked down. Had my first panic attack last October and basically I've been a mess ever since. Went to ER thinking I was having a heart attack. Had EKG, ultrasound of heart, etc and cardiologist said everything came back clear. Diagnosed me with GAD - gave me loads of drugs and sent me home. Hated the Xanax so I quit that. In college I experimented with some drugs like lots of college kids so I'd convinced myself that I had caused permanent damage to my body. Doctors disagreed and said I was healthy. Ever since I've had very tense shoulder muscle pain and fairly often feel chest pain. Been trying relaxation techniques and feel slightly better, along with visiting a chiropractor. A few weeks ago I was up late googling my symptoms (I know - hypochondria) and convinced myself the doctors were wrong. Went back to doc who Oder another EKG and chest x ray. Of course all came back clear. I'm now just trying to focus on being healthy by cutting waaaaay back on my sugar intake, taking a multivitamin, daily magnesium, and valerian root when I can't sleep. Also tryi g to incorporate more yoga and meditation. My question is, what does YOUR chest pain feel like? Mine is on again, off again. When I sleep, especially on my left side (which makes me think it's muscle related), even when I'm completely chill just watching TV. Is that Normal with anxiety? This has been going on for months but I keep reminding myself that it's not heart related but probably due to stress which leads to muscle tension. Any advice would be appreciated![]()
