Vladimir Nabokov is going to be my next literary obsession. I started Lolita a couple of years ago but wasn't in the right frame of mind for reading. Someone gave me a link to a short story, which I'm interested in reading:

I was just on Twitter and did a search for Nabokov -- found some interesting posts, including this passage from a book called Speak, Memory:

My daughter just sent me a pic of her cats on Snapchat. That's all I need really. I want to see her a lot more (she's bought a unit interstate, 10 hours drive away) and I'm working on that, but gotta sell my place (all profit and don't need to spend it on another house).. But that's a mission and a half. Real estate agents are my nightmare.

Anyhoo, she's my pride and joy, and not in the clichéd "post her all over FB" way.

Well, my Android streaming box really is not working properly. Takes half an hour of constant rebooting and flashing up the 'vmade' logo. Must be why they are sold so cheaply.

Plus, that's a LOT of screencapping to do, as you know!

Says there is no video signal, after I connected a HDMI lead. Odd! I don't use VGA.

Don't geek out on me Pedro! I only use Apple mobile products because they're designed for retards (and people like me who get violent using Windows because it wastes my time), and I haven't been able to afford a Mac yet. You'd like my dad though - he worked in IT for 40 years and gives lectures to businessmen on whatever database/spreadsheet/blah blah software they have to use. It still took us TWO HOURS to unlock my own laptop because Windows must think I'm NASA or something. I had to stop myself throwing that damn thing through *my* window..

But ok good.

We don't get a choice in Ghana. We have to take whatever washes up on our beaches. Usually the laptop belonged to a pervert who threw it in the sea so the police couldn't get it.

I like to find them and donate them to the local school, after I've wiped all the filth, of course. I wouldn't want the kids getting the wrong idea about how to behave around goats.

Please tell me what you know of these men? One is from Scotland I believe and one from Australia. The woman is from Australia also! Far away from the man I hope. He seems rather.. Savage. Probably also deviant in his sexual practices. I cannot abide these perverts and the pictures he displays I must shield my eyes from. My soul must not be contaminated by such filth. The one from Scotland seems somewhat odd but not savage like the Australian.
