    Hi

Hi there. Im new on here and have been struggling with anxiety for over a year now. It seems that just little things can trigger it off and mornings and evenings are the worst. Can anyone suggest how to deal with this being on my own?
    Many thanks x

    Hey Kats!

An holistic approach usually works best. Try to support your mind, body, emotions and soul.

For the body -- daily relaxation, exercise, hydration, a low-stress diet. Also, check for any health abnormalities like thyroid problems or anaemia. You may want to take meds if your anxiety is really bad.

For the mind -- try to decipher your hidden beliefs about yourself, others, life, and anxiety. Research the cognitive distortions and try to practice being mindful of your thinking to make sure you're not encouraging such thoughts.

For the emotions -- try to become more present (the Power of Now is a pretty good book to help with that.) Also, try to make sure you express emotions, rather than suppress them. Therapy, art, chatting to friends, exercise, and journalling can help.

For the soul -- involve yourself in the community. Pray, meditate or enjoy nature. Try to be around people who make you feel good. If you feel you have a calling in life, try to connect with that. Try to connect with your passions. It may be as simple as picking up that instrument you always wanted to learn and playing a few chords.
