My main fear is of going crazy because my disorder isn't panic disorder but something else. I frequently worry about it. Then, I'll read something or hear something about anxiety/panic and realize this condition is the biggest liar ever. It feeds on fear and can really make you believe things that simply are not true.
It's good you are seeing someone. Hopefully you have voiced these fears to them. They are trained to diagnose all sorts of mental illness. And remember, most of these illness' are treatable. I once had a therapist tell me (she's also a good friend) that people who are crazy, don't realize they are crazy. They never know it and are comfortable with themselves. She said that if you fear insanity...you have an anxiety disorder. I have to remind myself of this all the time!
I also bought a panic workbook on Amazon. It's by David Carbonell. It's been a huge help and comfort for me. It's not expensive.
For the record...I don't think you are crazy at all. You sound very anxious. I believe you have a panic disorder and like so many of us, you are falling for lies. Hang in there.
