In my opinion, it is the worst symptom of anxiety. I don't feel like myself. I feel detached from everything. I feel like I'm looking at the world through someone else's eyes.
I've experienced it all. It is so very hard to believe that anxiety can be causing all of this, but I've seen six doctors in the past month (going to be 8 doctors by Friday) who have all given me a clean bill of health, minus anxiety.
I try to do things to keep my mind off of it like watch my favorite movies. I also color (I'm 25 years old and not ashamed to admit it either). It relaxes my mind tremendously. I've recently gotten into meditation to help me sleep. I'm usually sleeping before the 10 minute exercise is done.
Your mind is playing tricks on you, and you must convince yourself of that or you'll drive yourself crazy. Believe me, I've been there.
I truly hope you see some relief soon. I know all to well the effects this has on your mind and body.
