I'm sorry to hear about that. Currently, I don't harm myself, but I have in the past and I often feel desires to act out. I don't know if it's the same for you, but I know that when I feel like cutting myself, I have a lot of anxious energy. It's as though I need something to squeeze or hold on to. Cutting is one way to release that energy, but there are better ways to release it (ways that don't involve hurting yourself).
Working out can help you. Even doing a few stretches can help.
