Soldiers returning from Iraq with Mental Health Problems

Around 30% of soldiers develop a mental health problem after returning home from Iraq, this article says. The range of problems manifesting themselves include depression, anxiety, PTSD and more. Many of the problems occur a period of time after returning home, not just immediately upon return. For this reason, the army is now giving follow-up screenings to soldiers 3 to 6 months after leaving a war zone (in addition to the evaluations given as they are leaving the war zone).

Yeah, I feel bad for anyone that has to live in that kind of constant warzone. I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone.
