New here and have some Q's about the Xanax i was prescribed

Hey all..new here!


Some questions for you guys. I was prescribed Xanax for my anxiety. I am taking .5 MG twice a day for right now...my first dose doesn't really effect me but my second dose at night makes me very very very sleepy. I mean it does seem to help with the negative thoughts ect..but i really want to be able to function while on this. When my tolerance builds up will this start to go away?

I want to be able to take if i am going into an anxious seting aka dates ect but if it makes me this sleepy..i don't know. Hope it goes away after a few doses

Xanax is a lifesaver for me. But I don't take it everyday. I only take it when I feel a panic attack coming on or before a stressful situation.
I find .5mg to sometimes be too much and will make me sleepy. So I start with half a pill. If I need more, I will take the other half.
Maybe you don't need two doses daily. Tell your dr that it makes you sleepy and ask if you can cut back on the dosage.
