I have tried Paxil, and it was helpful but I gained weight so I switched to Lexapro which has been immensely helpful.

Zena, I hope things get better for you soon. I just keep fighting my anxiety battle.

Zena, it sounds like some things are going in your life causing you anxiety right now. That's what is going on with me. Oh, well...

I've tried smoking before and it just makes me paranoid. I don't really have the money to go to the doctors to get prescriptions mostly because I don't have insurance either. So what helps me is music and being able to write out my thoughts. Also, at times I would watch some sappy shows to bring my feelings towards warmth of love/romance.

If Self Help is a mixture of all the above + other alternatives minus the medicine; then that gets my vote.

    Encouraging results thus far.

I do think the option not to remain anonymous is discouraging and effects the outcome of this pole. Just like most buttons used in forum and social interactions today. People should have the right to vote without giving giving away their user name.

None the less ... encouraging results thus far. Given there is no anonymity to this poll, it makes me wonder how many more users are sick and tired of the medical model.
