    Paranoid Parents

For those who live with paranoid parents, I would like to hear about your experiences.

My wife had a sister who died of a brain tumor at age 5, before my wife was born. When my wife was born, her parents kept looking at her eyes and asked if she had headaches as her deceased sisters eyes began to cross and had headaches. She had a tumor of the brain stem and her mother never fully recovered. Sometimes a parent never will recover from the death of a child. My wife learned to deal with it the best she could. although from what she tells me it was not the most pleasant experience.

I am sorry to hear that about your wife and her sister. Some people who experience trauma will never recover from it themselves, and may even pass on their negative judgements and views to the people closest to them. I know someone whose relatives will pass on criticism even when nothing bad has happened, but they use it as a means to prevent bad things from happening. In my opinion, that is sad.
