I was prescribed Effexor for my SA a few weeks ago, and it has been a nightmare for me, the last week especially. I have been really depressed from it, and had to call off work a few days. Now im finally off it, and I see my psychiatrist in less than 2 weeks. I just wish I could find something that works for me.

Hi Pat. I hated Effexor. It didn't help with my anxiety at all. It just made me feel very drowsy, but I couldn't sleep. I also fidgeted constantly. I actually ripped a whole in the bottom sheet of my bed because my feet wouldn't stay still. I lasted about a month on it and then I just couldn't make myself take it anymore. I got NO positive effects from it.
Celexa in combination with 0.5 mg of Clonazepam and CBT ended up working well for me. They helped me overcome agoraphobia. I hope you find something that works for you.
