Dear WTFB,
Hi there, I am also new to this board, and your post struck a cord with me. I worried about this for many months as well. I had headaches that would last quite literally months, and I thought there was no question it was something serious.
My doctor said something to me that seemed to ease my worry. It may not do the same for you, but it's worth a try.
He said the following:
"Each year there are over 40 million cases of severe headaches reported at hospitals, and of those, only 7,000 are something related to a tumor. So, the statistics are working against you. But more importantly, a headache does not warrant this concern, even a bad one. There are two major warning signs that you need to remember. Having a seizure, or suddenly falling down. If you experience one of those two things, THEN we can explore things further".
It may not have remotely the same effect on you that it did for me, but for some reason this woke me up to some logic. And maybe talking to your doctor like I did (if you haven't already) will help. |
