Does anyone know what counting things is a sign of?
Is it a form of OCD/anxiety or something like that?
Thanks

Hey,
Just wanted to tell ya that counting is a symptom of OCD. Do you do it constantly over and over? Is it worse when you are stressed? Mine usually goes that way. I have not been diagnosed by a doctor but I do have alot of the symptoms. I am just scared of being dependent on medication. Hope this helps!

Yes it's a sign of OCD but dont worry about getting diagnosed and being "dependent on medication" as this is always your choice there are a lot of different treatments for OCD as with most Anxiety disorders, but diagnosis and acceptance must come first.

Yes i agree. counting is a symptom of OCD.So OCD usually involves having both obsessions and compulsions, though a person with OCD may sometimes have only one or the other. Table 1 lists some common obsessions and compulsions. OCD symptoms can occur in people of all ages. Not all obsessive-compulsive behaviors represent an illness. Some rituals (e.g., bedtime songs, religious practices) are a welcome part of daily life.
