Hi guys,
My name is Aidan Rouse im 23 and live in headingley uk.
i joined this website just to talk about my anxiety because at home i dont really have anyone to talk to.
I went to sleep one day 2.5 years ago and woke up in the morning feeling sick, this is where the nightmare began. for the past 2.5 years i have had good days, bad days and unbearable days.
i dont really go out so i dont have friends, i find it hard to get myself to uni to finish my masters degree (most of the work i do at home) i joined to see if anyone had any type of methods to stop feeling sick. i would like to talk to people about their lives i can give advice as i have suffered i dont want people to take the same routes i have :]
if you want to talk then please give me a reply and ill try my best to help you xx
Aidan
God Bless

Aidan, Hi. You really should see your GP and tell him how you're feeling and have felt. There are ways to get you feeling much better so can finish at uni and live a better life. It may entail meds and counseling in addition to education on anxiety/depression as well as perhaps some lifestyle changes(if needed). You'll feel better in time and would be able to get together with friends, be better at work, etc and live the life you're supposed to much more so than being untreated and self managing. For give me if you have worked with your doc on all this and PM me any time. Alankay

Adian, yeah anxiety waxes and wanes but I'd write a journal of when you're anxious to have to when you visit the doc next. See I think we hope we are getting less anxious and since we feel OK at the time of a med visit we just say we're "OK". I would ask about upping the dose of zoloft from 50mg to 75 or even 100mg and see how you do. I bet that would be a good move that should be OK'd by your doc. PM me any time. Alankay.

i waas thinking about this for a while now because 50mg that i have been taking is such a small amount i often wonder upping the dose if it will help, do you really think i should because ill go to the doctors tomorrow and up my dosage x

Yes, it's the first thing they'd try if the med helped some in the first place. Often they'll go to 75 mg for a week or two then to 100mg and hold there. They might also just jump to 100mg if the med causes you no really problems(side effects). Either way I bet it would help. Alankay

Aidan, sure, PM me any time if you have a question to bounce off me, etc. Every patient will need treatment that is individual to them based on their anxieties' exact nature so will have different methods of treatment. But for most an ssri, like sertraline, will be a great med to use to lower anxiety. The dose may need to be tweaked over time. Counseling, reading self help books about anxiety are also great. Anyway in time, I bet to dose increase will help. It will take some time though. Alankay
