I am a 30 year old wife of a 34 year old wonderful man who has suffered from anxiety as far as he can't remember. My marriage is in scrambles right now and we are both trying to hang on and overcome this situation as best as we can. I decided to join this forum because I figured if anyone can understand how I feel and what Im going thru is the readers and members of this wonderful place. I'll post a thread soon I just have to be able to get everything in order in my own head. Right now I just feel hopeless and confused. Thank you for reading and hope to interact with you guys soon.

Welcome LoveGoddess,

It's always unfortunate to meet people under these conditions. Anxiety really can tear things apart.

When it comes to understanding things, something that helped for me, was to take a blank document, and just write and write. With no real purpose, or order, just put thoughts and emotions, as well as fears and beliefs down on the page. After a few days, you an go back to it, and read it. You can edit it a little more this time. If something still feels strong, you can keep it in, if something doesn't bother you as much as it did when you wrote it, you can feel free to remove it. Every time, leave it a few days, or a week. After coming back to it a few times you'll have some themes, thoughts or fears, that have stayed the whole way, or most of the way. It's usually these issues that are the one's causing the most trauma and upset, or the fears that are there that we can't shake off. It then gives us a better idea of how to tackle the issue little by little, instead of taking on this unknown enemy called "Anxiety."

And writing something down, is always a good way to try to comprehend it. Remember in Math's class, where we try to work things out in our head, and it get's pretty tricky. Jotting some things down on paper always seemed to make the process a little smoother. It's an idea, anyway. :)

Is he receiving any treatment for the condition?

All the best

Love, post away and you'll get responses for us, many of whom have learned a great deal about treating/managing anxiety and working with docs and counselors, etc. Alankay.

I have dealt with anxiety for as long as I could remember. There is a lot of great information out there. Please read a lot. If I can be of any help, please let me know. I'm here to vent about my anxiety. Venting seems to help. Talking with someone is a great tool.
