Lamotrigine?

Went to a new doctor today and she diagnosed me as bipolar. She said the fluoxetine i have been for 6 years was the wrong meds. She said it was working for "one of my moods'' but working against my "other mood" I was told to stop the prozac and start Lamotrigine (25mg). This is a big scary to me and not sure what to believe. Any advice? Comments would help too.

i agree! ive been taking it (lamictal form) for a few years to control epilepsy (the drug has many uses) and has been shown to be successful to treat bipolar disorders! good luck!
