Hi. I'm new here. I have mild SA. My main problems are public speaking and general fear of making a fool of myself. Also tend to ruminate over yesterday's mistakes.
Not young either. In my fiftees.

Hi! Welcome to the forum! You sound just like me! I'm 53, and do what you mentioned you do. Right now I'm doing The Self Esteem Guided Journal I found on Amazon. I'll let you know how that goes. CBT is good also. I also see a psychologist when I can, but it's 3 hours out of my day and I run our small family business, so I really don't have the time. I'm so tired of being like this, so I'm really searching for ways to change.
Have you tried therapy? CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is really good for this, I just need to get back to doing it.

Anyway, I just wanted to welcome you and say you are not alone.

thanks periwinkle...I have had counselling and apparently CBT was used but I wasn't aware of it at the time. I need to get back to counselling because I have experienced some bullying at work recently, which has tested my self-esteem, and rattled my social anxiety.
I'm 53 too by the way. Many oldies on this site?

I think counseling really helps...ask about CBT, that helps a lot also! I'm sorry about the bullying you've endured. I don't know if there are many oldies on this site...I just joined a few weeks ago. I'd get back to therapy if at all possible. Maybe medication if they think you need it. If you have anything specific, you might want to start a new thread with that in the title so people see it. Also, I just read other posts and get ideas from them.
