Hello I am new here, initially hesitant to register to any anxiety forum but I guess I need to share my experience and interact with anxiety sufferers which motivated me to register. I had anxiety in the past when I was kid, 10 years old after my grandfather died and was off of it for 20 years and with all stress from university, family and work, anxiety came back again. Now I am 34 years old. It started last year, after my wife had a baby and so many deadlines from the university my anxiety developed. I had several panic attacks symptoms like shortness of breath, palpitation, feeling of dying, derealization, blurred vision, shaking, feeling cold and always tired, sometimes cannot sleep at night. I once went to emergency, had all checked and everything was fine. This year, I had really bad palpitation in the morning so I went to my doctor, she did ECG and according to the result, I had septal infarct and I was shocked. But with the opinion of other doctors, they said it was just a wrong placement of the electrodes which was true in the result of my stress test, I had normal result in my stress test. I also experience agoraphobia especially when I take the bus or train. I feel shaky and having shortness of breath. After reading from the internet, so many articles which really helped me . I found ways to cope with these symptoms. I discovered breathing technique, 4,7 and 8. 4 seconds inhale, 7 seconds holding your breath, and 8 seconds exhaling. My doctor also prescribed some meds for my stomach acid which is helping. I am back to my exercise and my photography hobby. Also, they said raisins and banana can lower your pulse rate, I guess they also help me, I dont experience palpitations anymore. I have found out that sinusitis worsen my shortness of breath during panic attack. However, sometimes I still have some symptoms of anxiety when I am alone but the good thing, I rule out any cardiac problems to myself. I am just waiting to see psychiatrist in a few weeks time for possible hypnotherapy. Hope I will recover from this. By the way any of you guys heard Charles Linden Method? Is it very helpful? We just need to help each other to fight against this by sharing experiences and knowledge in dealing this kind of problem. Regards to all. We just need to think positive, I know its very hard but start the day by saying, "I am relax" and with a smile.
