Hi,
This is my first post here and really just wanted to share something as I have suffered from terrible anxiety attacks for 8 years now. I felt compelled to share with others as I don't want anyone else suffering what I went through. At one time or another I was prescribed everything from Ativan to Zoloft for anxiety and panic attacks. Strange thing was the medications (especially Zoloft) seemed to contribute to my attacks. I was so tired of going through jobs, going to the ER, and driving my wife nuts. Then my step sister, who suffered from the same things said she tried something that seemed to work. Biofeedback (neurofeedback). The best way to describe this is that it is like an EEG, that retrains your brain, or slows down those active areas that may be the cause of attacks. I initially got a scan and saw two huge red areas that the therapist said were the likely cause of my anxiety. Long story short, I went for 6 or 7 treatments, and felt so much better. My last scan showed those red spots almost completely gone. Pretty weird, but it helped. Something else is that we recently got on this juicing kick. This had nothing to do with the anxiety. We started drinking homemade juice everyday, as I NEVER eat vegetables. We put stuff like cucumbers, carrots, apples, and Kale into the juicer. It actually tastes great I think. Anyhow, after just a few days I started feeling this incredible sense of clarity and calmness. It is hard to even put into words. Well, come to find out, Kale has calming properties and I am here to tell you that is an understatement. I feel like a new person. I still have anxiety to some extent, but would most likely describe it is muscle tension instead of the crippling condition I suffered with for so long. So, for what it's worth, there is life without anxiety and medications that just complicate things. Hope this can help at least one person out there.
