Hello,
I just found you, and your post on anxiety symptoms may have saved my next 15 days.
I will explain right away:
Almost 3 years ago I had a nervous breakdown and was diagnosed with a anxiety disorder. I was on 1mg Xanax for 18 months. I decided I should stop it, and had the mos
terrible tapering, with terrible withdrawal symptoms. I eventually overcame it, and been feeling quite good for the last year. Until... a few weeks ago I started having symptoms again: pains in my arms, tensions in my whole body, dizziness, tremors while sleeping, flashes of light when closing my eyes... so I started thinking I had MS and went to the doctor. She said it's propably anxiety, but I will be doing the exam in... 15 days. So, having read - which i know I shouldn't - hundreds of article about MS, I am now pretty sure I have MS. But your post gave me hope... I couldn't believe anxiety could be so strong has to do all this in your body... I must add that I did have private reasons to be more anxious, it didn't come out of the blue... of course, I will still be doing the exam, just to be sure, but at least I now have hope that this can be anxiety symptoms... with which I will also have to deal with.
It's good to have found you,

AnaC

Yeah anxiety can creep back up due to stresses, etc. Ever thought of an ssri med(start low dose) to help keep the anxiety down as well as a long acting benzo JUST for occasional use only? I bet it's anxiety indeed. Alankay

I don't know what a ssri is?! But to be honest, I don't want to take any medication ever again. If it is in fact anxiety I will return to the gym (which I stopped with fear
something would happen during exercise...) and try acupuncture. Has anyone tried it? I DON'T want any more medications after what I went through with Xanax...
Thanks for your quiick reply!

Ana, I understand fully that you don't want meds and exercise is a great way to lower anxiety for sure. I'm sorry whoever had you on xanax for that long chose that one and didn't try others things beside that or in addition to that to help with anxiety. Alankay.
