Switching medication

I have been on celexa for about 9 years now and it has stopped working for me and the doctor wants me to start taking Prozac. Because i have such bad anxiety i am afraid of taking the medication. I have been weaning down off the celexa for the past month. I was on 20mg, then 10mg for three weeks, then 5mg for four days and have not taken anything since Saturday night. Is it ok to start taking the Prozac? I guess i am just looking for somewhere that i can vent about the feelings and anxiety that i am having.

Yeah for SSRI's you can just move from one to the next. 20mg of celexa is about equal to 20 mg of prozac. I have tried both(on prozac for almost 18 years). It's a good med. I'd start at 10mg for a week or 2 and then go to 20 mg of prozac. They are of the same class of medication. You needn't be afraid of prozac any more than celexa. Message me any time. Alankay.
